Race Results

KOREAN GRAND PRIX

Last season's race was a rainfest on a very green track. This season there has been very little dry time for the engineers and drivers to work on their setup. Today's race started dry, but would the threatening weather strike again?

Podium winners please post by Tuesday.

JAPANESE GRAND PRIX

Vettel's run to the WDC should finally end, but would he play it safe while starting on pole? A fast race under great weather conditions let all the horses run. The top finishers were separated by mere seconds.

Podium winners please post by Tuesday.

SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

Singapore! The only night race in F1, and arguably the most visually spectacular. A team-by-team lineup on the grid could allow some interesting strategies into turn 1, and this could be the race where Vettel clinches.

Would Vettel win, and the competitors be far enough back to allow him to walk off with WDC trophy? Would Kobi keep the wheels on the ground? Would the annual Safety Car make it's appearance?

ITALIAN GRAND PRIX

The Italian GP race started with a bang, and the action continued throughout the race. A very fast track contributed to a lot of passing, and attirition resulted in some unusual point finishes. All in all, a fun race to watch.

BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

One of the great old tracks that always generates a great race. Wet qualifying and a dry race makes for interesting strategy, and blistering tires added to the pit-road planning.

HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX

Nothing like intermittent rain showers to spice up the racing in Hungary. It was a day of spinning cars, flaming cars, and about 17 pit stops per car. In fact, the on-and-off rain created a record-high number of pit stops. All in all, a fun race to watch -- although one has to question the actions of the pit-road safety officials.

GERMAN GRAND PRIX

The latter half of the season looks to be interesting indeed. The performance gap between the Red Bulls and the rest of the pack appears to be closing, and the teams are definitely learning how to manage the Pirelli tires. This race was challenging from the first lap to the very last.

BRITISH GRAND PRIX

The big question coming into this race was whether the rule changes, the new layout, the weather, or the pits would play a part in the outcome. As it turns out, the answer is "all of the above." This race featured quite a bit of drama that continued until the very last corner.

EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX

On a track not known for passing opportunities, the DRS and KERS systems combined to offer some nice racing this year. Even more important was the work on pit row. Guido would have been right at home, as the crews competed for the fastest "PITSTOP!" This results show that this is truly a team sport.

CANADIAN GRAND PRIX

The weather finally played a big role in the F1 season. The skies opened and the straightaways looked like the waterways outside the track. This ended up being the longest F1 race in history in terms of time -- but for those who hung on, the finish was well worth the wait.

MONACO GRAND PRIX

The race in Monaco is always beautiful to watch, and is oftentimes dramatic as well. Extremely quick cars on a very tight track left the competitors seeing red. The outcome was in doubt all the way to the checkers -- which isn't always the case at Monaco.

SPANISH GRAND PRIX

Due to scheduling conflicts I haven't actually seen this race yet, so no semi-witty semi-spoiler commentary.

Congratulations to Lena Tecnologia for the win, and to Team BRR and Scuderia Modificata for the podium finishes.

TURKISH GRAND PRIX

80 pit stops and a lot of on-track passing results in an exciting race to watch. Some teams show a surprising resurgence, while other surprise in a negative way.

Congratulations to Team BRR for the win, and to Scuderia Modificata and Jordan Grand Prix for the podium finishes.

Image:100px-Flag_of_Texas.jpg

CHINESE GRAND PRIX

The Chinese GP shows that the various FIA manipulations to increase passing are actually working. DRS, KERS and tires that suddenly degrade are combining to make for interesting racing. This race had more leaders than any in recent memory, and the drama came down to the very end of the race.

Congratulations to Scuderia Modificata for the win, and to Jordan Grand Prix, Team BRR and Lena Tecnologia for the podium finishes.

MALAYSIAN GRAND PRIX

Despite the threat of monsoon, and the presence of rain, this race came down to pace and race strategy. The true question was whether Petrov would maintain his high-flying profile from Australia -- one might say the answer was yes.

Congratulations to TeamBRR and Lena Tecnologia for the dual victories, and to Scuderia Modificata and Jordan Grand Prix for filling out the podium.

AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

The 2011 season finally gets underway, and we can see the true race pace of the teams. There were some surprises that will no doubt cause some shuffling among some of the IFGP lineups. As expected, the very similar lineups resulted in tight point spreads and 5 teams on the podium

Congratulations to TeamBRR and Lena Tecnologia for the dual victories, and to Scuderia Modificata, Jordan Grand Prix and CBL Corse for filling out the podium.
